Mission Statement: 

 

Roots Pride PGH is an intentional celebration of diversity across the entire spectrum of race, class, gender, orientation, and ability in the LGBTQIA+ community. In order to create a celebration that is welcoming for all, Roots Pride PGH holds the following values:

 

• We affirm and celebrate the inherent value and humanity of all members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

• We recognize the need to center the voices of people who are bearing the brunt of systemic inequality. We carry this intentionality with us in our planning, organizing, and programming.

• We devote resources to communities who bear the brunt of systemic inequality, particularly people of color.

• We hold ourselves and our partners accountable for creating a truly inclusive community.
